6.5′ x 7.5′ Kazak Rug
Over time, this rug sustained damage at the ends, and a needle could not be used to repair it because the wefts had become so fragile and breakable. Our repairman in Türkiye used the “twisting technique” and was able to repair the fringes, one by one. The time needed to complete this repair was three weeks.

5’ x 7’ Sivas Türkiye Rug
There is a story behind this rug: Two sisters shared ownership of their deceased parents’ rug, but they had no idea of its high value. So, they decided to cut the rug in half so that each of them could have their own share of the rug. Unfortunately, they cut the rug with scissors which resulted in about 12 inches of loss to the rug’s original form. When we saw the rug, we realized that it was very valuable, a collectible, and we recommended restoring the rug back to its original form. The rug was sent to Türkiye, and repairs took three months to complete. Upon delivery of the newly-repaired rug, the two sisters decided to alternate the use and enjoyment of the rug by one sister using it for one year, and the next year the other sister would enjoy it!

10’ x 14’ Persian Rug
The customer had left a flower pot on this rug for a very long time, and consequently, they did not realize that the watering of the pot had caused significant damage to the rug. When they understood there was damage, they called us to ask whether the rug could be repaired. Yes, repairs could be done, but we always recommend that flower pots should never be put onto valuable rugs. We needed three weeks for the repair, and the customer was very satisfied with the results.

5’ x 14’’ 18th Century Karapinar Türkiye Rug
This rug belongs in the Solak family, and we decided to change the white parts of the rug to green color and to repair the damaged corner of the rug. Repairs took about five months, and we used old wool for restoration. Old wool is taken from kilims which would be compatible with kilims of the same region as the rug being repaired. This rug remains a favorite piece in my collection.

4’ x 8’ Shahsavan Caucasian Rug
A customer called us to restore their rug. Because all the edges of the rug were damaged, we decided to send it to Türkiye to be restored. The restoration took five months. Upon completion of the repairs and delivery to a very satisfied customer, we recommended that the rug be hung on the wall rather than on the floor. In this way, the rug would be protected, and the customer would be able to enjoy the beauty of this rug for many years.

6’x 9’ Kazak Rug
This rug had damage caused by a dog who had chewed the edges of the rug (lthat’s why we love dogs who keep us in business!). This repair took just one week and was returned to a very happy customer and dog.
