Turkish Rug
This 5′ x 7′ Turkish rug has an interesting story. Two brothers shared their family’s rug. How did they do this? They didn’t realize the rug was an antique and also expensive, and they cut the rug in half so each brother could have part of the rug! A few years later, they decided to put the rug together again. But the rug pieces were damaged in many places and almost one foot of the rug’s pattern was lost. We sent this rug to our workshop in Turkey where experts worked two months to repair the damage and to reconnect the rug pieces. When the brothers saw the rug after repairs were made, they couldn’t believe how beautifully the rug had been restored! Their plan now is for one brother to use the rug for a few years, and then the other brother will have his turn!

Kazak Rug
This is a 6’5″ x 7’5″ Kazak rug. Over time, this rug sustained damage at the ends, and a needle could not be used to repair it because the wefts had become so fragile and breakable. Our repairman in Turkey used the “twisting technique” and was able to repair the fringes, one by one. The time needed to complete this repair was three weeks.
